Georgia VINE in Rabun County
Georgia VINE is the statewide custody-status and notification service. The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council describes the current deployment as VINE Appriss, with jail notifications, phone, online, and mobile access. It can report arrest, release, escape, transfer, and other custody changes when the responsible agency supplies the event.
Rabun has no verified public 24-hour or 72-hour sheriff release feed, making VINE the main public alert layer for a person whose record participates. Coverage still depends on agency data. County jail custody and GDC state-prison custody must be read separately. A person transferred from Rabun to GDC has left the county jail but remains confined.

Rabun VINELink Release Fields
VINE is built for status and alerts. Its available fields can vary by record and contributing agency. A release result may say released or out of custody, or it may stop showing an active placement. That change does not by itself identify bond, time served, a court order, or transfer.

For a sentenced state inmate, GDC and Georgia's Victim Information Program may also supply scheduled or maximum release details. A projected date is not the same as an actual release. Verify completed release with GDC records, the parole board, or DCS as the case requires.
Set a Rabun Release Notification

Georgia VIP Release Information

Rabun's Statewide VINE Layer
Georgia's 2024 VINE Appriss launch matters in Rabun because the county's old public inmate search was removed and no recent-release feed was verified. CJCC describes real-time notifications and round-the-clock access across phone, web, and mobile channels. The system fills an alert gap for participating jail records.
Real-time describes the service goal, not a guarantee that every agency entry arrives without delay. Booking systems, matching, and agency updates can create gaps. Confirm urgent status questions with the custodian. For Rabun jail, that is the sheriff. For state prison, it is GDC.
Confirm Rabun VINELink Results
VINELink does not replace a release or discharge record. It may not explain whether a person bonded out, finished a sentence, left by court order, transferred, or moved under a detainer. The sheriff's booking and release entry supplies that local reason. The court file supplies the legal order. GDC records supply the state-prison status.
Federal inmates are outside VINELink's BOP function. Search the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator for a sentenced federal inmate. ICE has its own detainee locator. A person can be released from Rabun County jail and still remain in federal or immigration custody, so ask which custody changed.

The same name can therefore produce events at different stages. First, Rabun may report a transfer out of the detention center. Later, GDC may report a prison placement, parole release, or discharge. Reading only the first event can create the false impression that all custody ended. Always note the agency beside the event.
GDC Find an Offender can show charges, facility location, and release-date information for state offenders. GDC warns that public data should be confirmed through written correspondence with Inmate Records and Information at PO Box 1529, Forsyth, GA 31029. VINELink remains the alert channel, while GDC is the state records source.
After a Rabun Release Alert

Keep the offender identifier with the registration confirmation, since it helps support staff locate the correct subscription.
A VINE result is most useful when paired with a direct records path. For Rabun jail, retain the sheriff contact and case number. For state custody, retain the GDC number. For parole, keep the TPM or decision reference only as planning information until the release is final.
