Rabun Privacy Notice

This notice describes data handled when a visitor reads Rabun County release information, uses a partner search tool, or sends a message. It also explains routine technical collection, outside services, disclosure, safeguards, and available privacy choices.

Information That May Be Collected

Search terms entered in a sponsored search box pass to the third-party provider that operates the tool, not to a Rabun County agency. A message sent to us can include the sender's name, email address, and whatever the sender chooses to write. Servers and service providers may automatically receive an IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, and date or time data. Cookies or similar storage may remember preferences, measure visits, support advertising, and help prevent misuse.

How Information Is Used

Collected data may be used to operate and secure the site, respond to messages, understand which pages are useful, correct errors, measure traffic, limit abuse, and support advertising or search features. A contact message should not contain sensitive details about a person in custody. We cannot use a private message to change a sheriff, court, GDC, DCS, BOP, or ICE record.

Partners and Other Recipients

Search providers receive queries submitted to their tools under their own notices. Analytics services and advertising networks may receive device, cookie, and usage data. Vendors that host or protect the site may process information needed for those services. Information may also be disclosed when required by a valid legal order, to law enforcement as legally required, to protect rights or safety, or during a lawful transfer of the site's operation. Personal information is not sold as a stand-alone list.

Links to Outside Services

Links lead to the Rabun County Sheriff's Office, Georgia agencies, courts, and other independent sites. Each outside service controls its own records, cookies, security, and privacy practices. Opening a link or submitting a form there is governed by that site's terms and notice.

Security and Retention

Reasonable technical and administrative measures are used, but no web transmission or storage system can be guaranteed secure. Data is retained only as long as reasonably needed for operations, legal duties, dispute resolution, security, or the purpose for which it was collected. A third-party provider applies its own retention schedule to data it receives.

Cookies and Visitor Choices

Browser settings can block or delete cookies, though some functions may then work poorly. Advertising and analytics providers may offer separate opt-out controls. Visitors may ask about personal information they directly submitted, request a correction, or request deletion where applicable. A request may require identity verification, and legal or security duties can limit what can be deleted.

Children and Notice Changes

This site is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. If such information is identified, it may be removed. This notice may change as services or legal duties change. The version posted here governs current use, so visitors should review it from time to time.
